Landscape Cleanup and Storm Damage FAQs

Check out these frequently asked questions. Don’t hesitate to contact us if you still need answers.

Will insurance cover landscaping storm damage?
This will depend on your insurance policy. Typically damage to your home is more likely to be covered, such as if a branch or tree falls on it. However, policy limits will apply and it’s always a good idea to speak with your insurance provider.
My property was damaged in the storm, what should I do about my landscaping?
Reach out to the Anchor Landscaping team for a free inspection and we’ll determine the scope of the damage.
How much does storm clean-up cost?
The scale of landscape cleanup projects can vary drastically and my cost anywhere from $500–$75,000. Typically, the cost depends on how many trees are down, as well as the size and maturity of them. Cost also depends on whether heavy equipment is needed, such as a scissor lift, crane, excavators, and wood chippers etc.
What storm-resistant landscaping options can I consider?
We recommend that homeowners avoid cottonwood trees. These are the weakest tree, with soft wood and a shallow root structure, and many of them bend or snap in half due to storms. If you do use cottonwoods, it’s best not to plant them near your home.
What should I do if power lines are down?

If you have downed or damaged power lines, stay well clear of them (we recommend avoiding that area of your property entirely if possible) and contact your utility company immediately to evaluate the damage. This should be done before contacting anyone for landscape cleanup services.
